James Bond is back at work. Filming has begun in Prague on Casino Royale, the first to star the new 007, Daniel Craig, who landed the job in October.
But what's missing from the movie, so far, are a villain and, perhaps more importantly, a Bond girl – because neither role has been cast.
Regarding the latter, "They're talking to three to four girls right now," Royale's screenwriter Paul Haggis (Oscar-nominated for directing Crash) tells the Hollywood Reporter. "Every week I read there's a new Bond girl, and I call them and they say, 'No, you idiot.'"
The trade paper reports that the focus recently has been between Rachel McAdams and Thandie Newton to fill the high heels. The casting of the villain is even further along, though no names have leaked out.
Still, an agent tells the Reporter, whichever actors are asked to step into the roles will be in a great bargaining position, given that cameras are already rolling.
