Paris Pelted by Flour at Fashion Week
"There is nothing remotely fashionable about the torture and death of animals killed for fur," Yvonne Taylor, of PETA Europe, told reporters.
Hilton's rep says Paris did not wear fur at the show, adding that she was hit when PETA activists threw the flour at the designer.
The socialite's evening had started without incident, as she opened and closed designer Julien Macdonald's show sporting what were reported to be $3.6 million worth of (borrowed) jewelry.
Then again, a little something did occur on the catwalk, when the beads on her dress started dropping. "My dress was like 100 lbs.," Hilton told PEOPLE after the show, "but it looked so good on. I could feel the beads coming off, and I thought, 'Oh no, I'm going to trip.'"
As for the bridal outfit she wore in the show: "I loved it," she said, even though "I couldn't see through the veil because it was so bright. The end of a show should always have a bridal dress."
Tuesday being Valentine's Day, Hilton also said that her boyfriend, Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos, "sent me this eight-foot bouquet of the most beautiful flowers. It was insane … it has butterflies all over it."
Hilton said the floral arrangement was so big that it covered an entire bar of the hotel … It was every kind of flower. I have never seen anything like it in my life."
