When Kevin Federline celebrated his 28th birthday with a second party in Atlanta (the first blowout was in Las Vegas), he left with the town's most sought-after digits: Usher's phone number. The two exchanged info after hyping up the crowd on the mic at Vision night club, where Federline and wife Britney Spears took over the hot spot's VIP circle and danced. And while the couple only stayed about 45 minutes, the party was just starting for Usher and his pals – he and rapper Nelly ordered Cristal and hung out all night.

The Paris Hilton Way

If anyone knows how to sell herself, it's Paris Hilton, who made all the right moves in Miami at her record release party. Couch dancing? Check. Deejay schmoozing? Done. Four-star review by self? Of course. "The album is sick," Hilton told the crowd at local nightclub the Fifth during the Winter Music Conference. "I can't wait for everyone to hear it." Some of the lucky few who got a preview listen: Destiny's Child's Kelly Rowland, Venus and Serena Williams, Three 6 Mafia, Tyson Beckford and DJ Paul Oakenfold, who spun remixes.

• Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn, celebrating his 36th birthday March 28 in Chicago with about 20 friends at laid-back Italian restaurant Mia Francesca. Vaughn was overheard playfully praising the food: "I think I'll name my stomach Mia Francesca!"

• Sean Penn and pals, partying at Las Vegas hot spot Body English until about 2 a.m. during the club's Sunday School night, where dancers wear Catholic schoolgirl outfits.

• The Office's Ricky Gervais, giving a talk to the intellectual circle the Oxonian Society in New York City and telling PEOPLE about his new hobby, the podcast: "It's my favorite thing I do at the moment, just sitting in a room talking rubbish."
