Jeff Timmons, who was a member of the boy band 98 Degrees – along with Nick and Drew Lachey – was arrested in April for drunken driving and driving without a valid license, Brevard (Fla.) County Sheriff's Office officials said Wednesday.
Timmons, who was driving a white Mercedes, was pulled over on April 23 in Florida after being spotted driving 60 mph in a 45-mph zone, the Associated Press reports.
Timmons' eyes were "glassy" and he told police he'd had "a lot" to drink, according to authorities. Later, Timmons, 33, told deputies he'd only had two beers. Timmons, who listed a California home address on his arrest warrant, said he was from out of town and didn't have his driver's license.
The former boy bad star was accompanied by two passengers who were "were very intoxicated," according to the police report. One man identified himself as Mitch English, who hosts the syndicated TV show The Daily Buzz. English told police Timmons was driving his car for him because he had had too much to drink, the report said.
Timmons was arrested, but was released after posting a $500 bond, Brevard County Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. Andrew Walters said Wednesday.
Timmons and English didn't return the AP's phone calls seeking comment on Wednesday.
