Keith Richards has made a "complete recovery" from the head injury he suffered in Fiji, and the Rolling Stones have rescheduled their European tour to kick off in Milan, the group says in a statement posted Friday on its Web site.

The European leg of the band's "A Bigger Bang" tour was scheduled to start in Barcelona last Saturday, but the first 15 dates were postponed after Richards suffered a concussion on April 27, reportedly after falling from a palm tree, while on vacation with wife Patti Hansen in Fiji.

"Excuse me, I fell off of my perch!" Richards, 63, says in the Stones' Web posting. "Sorry to disrupt everyone's plans but now – it's FULL STEAM AHEAD! Ouch!!"

After the incident, Richards was flown 1,300 miles to New Zealand, where he underwent surgery to relieve a blood clot on his brain. He was discharged from Ascot Hospital in Auckland on May 11 and continued to receive outpatient treatment there, his rep said. He has not been seen in public since leaving New Zealand for his home in Connecticut two weeks ago.

The band's reps have offered no comment on Richards's accident or the extent of his injuries.

The last of the rescheduled concert dates is Sept. 3 in Horsens, Denmark, and two shows, in the German cities of Nuremberg and Leipzig, have been canceled.

The statement also says that scheduled concerts in Barcelona, Madrid, Brussels and several other cities have been postponed shows, and new dates will be announced soon.

However, Reuters reports that the group's options could be limited by their tentative plans to tour in the U.S. in the fall.
