Julia Roberts may have been snubbed by the Tonys – her performance in the critically panned "Three Days of Rain" was not nominated – but she swallowed her pride at Sunday's awards ceremony.

The actress, on hand to present the best actor award to "The History Boys" star Richard Griffiths, told the audience, "I just want to take this opportunity to say that you people are insanely talented."

The crowd of veteran stage talents gave her a warm round of applause.

The big winners at the 60th annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York City were "The History Boys" and "Jersey Boys," which earned six and four trophies, respectively, including best musical for "Jersey Boys."

Other winners included "The Drowsy Chaperone," which won five awards, and "The Pajama Game," starring Harry Connick, Jr., which won for best musical revival.

Despite 11 nominations, the Oprah Winfrey-produced "The Color Purple" captured only one award: best actress in a musical for star LaChanze. Former Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon was named best actress in a play for her performance in "Rabbit Hole."

On Monday morning, after "Jersey Boys" took home four Tonys, the cast of the musical performed at the White House for First Lady Laura Bush and her guests at an East Room luncheon.

One of the show's stars, J. Robert Spencer, took several opportunities to tease Mrs. Bush, who saw the show on Broadway with daughter Barbara earlier this month.

"You had to skedaddle right out of there, so we didn't know if you liked the show or not," Spencer joked. "We saw you leaving and thought, 'Wait! Wait! We have one more encore!'"

But Mrs. Bush gave the group a thumbs-up. "Everyone can see why you're a winner," she told the cast. "I could sing every song."
