Mulholland Drive director David Lynch has filed for divorce after just one month of marriage.

Lynch and producer Mary Sweeney wed on May 10, 2006 and separated exactly a month later, according to papers filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday.

The director, 60, cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.

According to court papers, Lynch and Sweeney will share custody of their 14-year-old son, Riley Sweeney Lynch.

The couple collaborated on numerous projects: Sweeney edited the groundbreaking TV show Twin Peaks and produced the films Mulholland Drive and Lynch's yet-to-be released Inland Empire, starring Laura Dern and Jeremy Irons.

Lynch's previous two marriages ended in divorce. He and Peggy Lynch, his wife from 1967-74, have one daughter, director Jennifer Chambers Lynch (Boxing Helena). Lynch was also married to Mary Fisk from 1977-87; they have one son.
