Bridget Jones's Diary author Helen Fielding has had a baby girl, PEOPLE has learned.
The baby was born on Sunday and weighed in at 6 pounds, 3 ounces. "She's gorgeous but yet-to-be-named," Fielding's rep, Catherine Olim, said in a statement. "Mother and daughter are both doing fine and everyone is delighted."
This is the second child for the 48-year-old British writer and her longtime partner, Kevin Curran, 49. Curran is an Emmy-winning writer who has worked on The Simpsons, Married with Children and The Late Show with David Letterman.
The Los Angeles-based couple already have a have a 2-year-old son, Dashiell.
In 1996, Fielding published the novel Bridget Jones' Diary, about a calorie-conscious young career woman looking for love in London. Renée Zellweger starred in the 2001 movie version.
Fielding's sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, was made into a 2004 movie also starring Zellweger.
The author's most recent work is 2004's Olivia Joules and the Overactive Imagination.
