"Friends" of Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt are spreading the word that they're engaged, reports New York's Daily News. The story started in Manhattan over the weekend, after Aniston was seen sporting a new diamond ring at a Sting concert, where she reportedly showed off her bauble to Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler. Later, at the Shark Bar, patrons who inquired if Aniston's ring meant the two were engaged were told yes, says the News. A rep for Aniston later told the tabloid, however, "She has a ring, but it's not an engagement ring."
- In related news, Jim Carrey and Renée Zellweger "are planning a wedding," reports the New York Post, quoting a source it says is close to Zellweger. The two actors met over the summer while shooting "Me, Myself and Irene." Zellweger's publicist denied the story, however, while Carrey's told the Post: "I don't discuss my client's personal life."
