MiG, one of the final three finalists on CBS's Rock Star: INXS, has signed his first record deal, Universal Music Classics Group has announced.

MiG's self-titled debut CD is due in January on Universal's Decca imprint. The album will feature covers of songs including Seal's "A Kiss From A Rose," David Bowie's "Life On Mars," The Police's "Wrapped Around Your Finger" and Green Day's "Wake Me Up When September Ends."

The first single, "Baby I Love Your Way," featuring a guest performance by Peter Frampton, is already available for download on Yahoo!

Born in the Philippines and raised in Australia, MiG (full name: Mig Ayesa) lived in London for several years, where he appeared in the musicals Rent and We Will Rock You, featuring the music of Queen. He also recorded a 4-song EP, The MiGnition Project, with Queen guitarist Brian May on one of the tracks.

From there it was on to Los Angeles and Rock Star: INXS. He finished performing with the cross-country "Rock Star: Supernova" tour.
