Twin Boys for Patrick Dempsey, Wife

Patrick Dempsey and his wife, Jillian, are expecting twin boys, the Grey's Anatomy star said Wednesday on Live with Regis and Kelly.

Dempsey's rep first confirmed to PEOPLE on Sept. 14 that the couple were expecting. They have a 4-year-old daughter, Talula Fyfe.

Dempsey, 40, met his future wife in 1994 when he came into her salon for a haircut. They wed in 1999 at the actor's family's farmhouse in Maine.

Jillian now has her own high-end cosmetics line. Dempsey was a teen star who made a comeback as Reese Witherspoon's fiancé in the 2002 movie Sweet Home Alabama and as the heartthrob known as "Dr. McDreamy" on the hit ABC medical drama.

Of his fame, Dempsey told PEOPLE in 2002, "I really love it now. But I also have a life outside it with Jill and Talula. I am really thankful that it is all going well."
