Jessica Simpson almost had an uncomfortable run-in at L.A.'s Hyde Lounge. The pop diva and Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine – who were rumored to have hooked up at the Chateau Marmont hotel in February – were both at the hot spot last Saturday. But they both kept their cool. Simpson and pal Eva Longoria sang along to the Black Eyed Peas' "My Humps" as they shared a booth with Dancing with the Stars' Mario Lopez and director Brett Ratner. Meanwhile, Levine enjoyed cocktails and kisses with a mystery brunette at the bar.

On his way out of the club, Levine, demonstrating that there's no awkwardness with Simpson, stopped by the singer's table to chat with her and Ratner. "Jessica was friendly to him," says a patron. "She didn't seem jealous at all. She has clearly moved on."

And Simpson and her once-reported beau John Mayer were both in Texas recently – but didn't cross paths. Mayer was in Austin last weekend to perform at the Austin City Limits Festival, where he met up with Jake Gyllenhaal and Lance Armstrong. The guys watched Mayer from the side of the stage and later the trio all hung out backstage.

On Wednesday, when Mayer was back in L.A. (where he's been spotted working out with a trainer), Simpson headed to Dallas for the Radio & Records Convention. She arrived late with her maltipoo Daisy in tow and almost missed the entire event. The following day, the singer jetted to London, where she'll cheer on sister Ashlee, who'll make her West End debut in Chicago on Sept. 25.
