Heather Mills may be about to step before the judges – but it has nothing to do with her divorce from Paul McCartney, PEOPLE reports in its latest issue.

The jurists in question would be Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli of ABC's Dancing with the Stars.

A source close to the show tells PEOPLE that the former model might just show off her samba skills, following in the footsteps of Harry Hamlin and Emmitt Smith, when the fourth edition premieres March 19.

"She has not signed yet," an insider tells PEOPLE. "But talks are ongoing."

Mills's rep declined to comment. (Mills, who was struck by a police motorcycle in 1993, necessitating an amputation of her left leg below the knee, wears a prosthetic device.)

Dancing with the Stars alum Jerry Springer will announce the new cast on Feb. 21.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday police in Sussex, England, said Mills, 38, visited a police station near her home in Hove, 50 miles south of London.

"It was a preplanned meeting for her to discuss a number of issues," a spokeswoman for the force said on customary condition of anonymity. "The meeting did not relate to anything specific and she was not arrested."

Mills's spokesman, Phil Hall, told the Associated Press that since Mills's split last year from McCartney, "She has been subject to death threats and there has been ongoing communication with Sussex Police about that. I imagine it's to do with that."

The couple – who have a 3-year-old daughter, Beatrice – announced their separation in May and began divorce proceedings in July.
