’80s Video Star Tawny Kitaen Faces Drug Charge
Actress Tawny Kitaen, best known for starring in Whitesnake videos and later for being a housemate on VH1's The Surreal Life, could face up to three years in prison after being charged with possessing 15 grams of cocaine.
On Tuesday a spokeswoman for the Orange County district attorney's office said Kitaen, 45, is scheduled to be arraigned on the felony charge Dec. 18 at Harbor Justice Center in Laguna Niguel, according to the Associated Press.
Police say the drugs were found in Kitaen's San Juan Capistrano, Calif., home in May when deputies responded to a request for a welfare check. Her two children were home at the time.
This is not a first in legal troubles for Kitaen, who starred opposite Tom Hanks in the '80s movie Bachelor Party.
In 2002, she agreed to attend counseling after facing spousal abuse and battery charges stemming from an alleged physical attack on her then-husband, Major League Baseball pitcher Chuck Finley.
On The Surreal Life 6, she appeared with Alexis Arquette, C.C. DeVille, Steve Harwell, Sherman Hemsley, Maven Huffman and Andrea Lowell.
