Director Gabriele Muccino "told me one day, 'You are posing for my camera. Don't pose for my camera. You are making faces like you are hurt for my camera. Go away and come back in two hours hurt for real,' " Smith told us. And when the actor tried to give pointers to his 8-year-old son and costar Jaden, Muccino stopped him in his tracks: " 'Will, your performance isn't even good yet. Worry about you. Let me worry about Jaden.' " Ouch. Also celebrating with the Family Smith: Eva Mendes, Thandie Newton and former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air costar Alfonso Ribeiro.

The singer hosted former 98 Degrees bandmate Justin Jeffree and a few pals in a private room, where he ordered a $90 bottle of Domaine Drouhin Laurène 2002 Pinot Noir and feasted on a 12-oz. filet mignon. The restaurant is a hometown favorite for the singer, says owner Jeff Ruby: "Nick used to date my daughter. I actually introduced them when he was with 98 Degrees. He's a good friend and a good kid." And he proved it – he picked up the entire tab for dinner.

"Oh my God, we've just been blessed," Foxx told the crowd after her serenade. "Party! We're going to be here all night." Dreamgirls star Beyoncé couldn't make it to the bash – she was heading on a private jet with beau Jay-Z to celebrate his birthday in St. Barts.
