"It is amazing, surreal," says Fields, 37. "For as maternal as I've felt all my life, it still has the 'Wow!' factor."
Fields and Morgan, 30, a Broadway actor, have been together "a couple of years" and decided this summer to have a child. "We were on the subway one day and Chris said, 'I'm ready to start our family,' " Fields says. "It was beautiful and I started to weep."
Though they don't know the baby's sex, they've already picked names: "If she's a girl, Aria Grace, and if he's a boy, Sebastian Alexander."
Morgan, she says, is "a Southern guy and very much the gentleman, an old soul. Fantastically handsome and stunningly built. At some point he'll be in your Sexiest Man Alive issue."
Professionally, Fields has another man in her life: Grammy-nominated jazz saxophonist Najee. She's produced and directed a documentary about him, Najee: Sax in South Africa, set to air Christmas Eve on BETJ at 8 p.m. ET.
"I've been a fan and a friend of Najee's for years," she says. "He puts on great, great shows. Everybody's always clapping and tapping their feet and moving around, so everybody's having a ball."
