WEEK AHEAD: Courteney Cox Dishes the Dirt | Courteney Cox
Courteney Cox makes the gossip pages – on television, anyway – as her new show Dirt hits the airwaves. PEOPLE takes a look at the show, plus other events to watch for in the coming week:

SUNDAY, DEC. 31: There are lots of parties on New Year's Eve – but for those who don't want to leave the comfort of home, there's plenty of programming to keep things exciting. On the classic Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2007 (ABC, 10 p.m. ET) – hosted by Ryan Seacrest – the rockin' bit is no tease: The show features performances by Christina Aguilera, Rascal Flatts, Fergie and others. Or watch Carson Daly ring in '07 from Times Square on his New Year's Eve with Carson Daly (NBC, 11:30 p.m. ET), featuring an appearance by rabble-rousers Panic! At the Disco.

MONDAY, JAN. 1: Get ready to rumble! Kevin Federline hits the wrestling ring to face off with World Wrestling Entertainment champ John Cena live on WWE Monday Night Raw (USA, 9 p.m. ET) at Miami's American Airlines Arena. After being bodyslammed by Cena at their first meeting last October, Federline promises revenge. "Oh yeah, Cena, my name is not K-Fed," the rapper announced at a WWE event earlier this month. "It's Kevin Federline, bitch. And I want some and I'm gonna get some."

While the night before offers heaps of entertainment choices, New Year's Day comes with its own iconic fun – the Pasadena Tournament of Roses – including the famous Rose Parade (ABC, NBC or HGTV, 11 a.m. ET). In addition to the explosion of flowers, pomp and spirit of various marching bands, the event features American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee, who will belt out "Better Off Alone" from her forthcoming album while perched atop, yes, a giant, hydraulic frog float. How, um, eco-friendly. After the parade, stay tuned for the Rose Bowl college football game (ABC, 5 p.m. ET).

TUESDAY, JAN. 2: True, Courteney Cox is used to making headlines – but probably never in this way. The actress returns to television to play Lucy Spiller, a ruthless celebrity tabloid editor in Dirt (FX, 10 p.m. ET), a daring change of pace for the perennially perky former Friend. Apart from starring in the racy show, Cox, along with husband David Arquette, is its executive producer. Just call her the boss on camera and off.
