The New Year started off strong for Kevin Federline, who got his promised revenge on heavyweight John Cena in his pro-wrestling "debut" on Monday.

Federline, 28, was body slammed by Cena in October during an appearance on World Wrestling Entertainment's Monday Night Raw, and faced the 6,1", 240-lb. bruiser again in an exhibition fight at the American Airlines Arena in Miami.

Dressed in an oversize black-and-silver boxing robe, Federline stepped into the ring to a chorus of boos from the crowd of 15,000, ABC News reports.

Just when it looked like Cena was about to defeat him in the no-rules bout, Federline got a helping hand from a 348-pound wrestler named Umaga.

Umaga hit Cena in the head with a title belt, knocking him to the mat, where Federline "pinned" his motionless body and was named the winner of the fight.

"I did shock the world when I beat John Cena," Federline later told the crowd, which included NBA stars Shaquille O'Neal and Jason Williams, according to MTV News. "Cena," Federline said for the TV cameras, "I can see you. You can't see me."

But later that night, as Federline was serving as guest commentator for another Cena match, Cena dragged him back into the ring and slammed him to the canvas.

This time, the crowd cheered.
