The baby is due in May. The couple wed in 2005.
"We are so excited about the baby," McCarthy tells PEOPLE. "I'm hoping the baby has a lot of Ben's calm traits and less of my spazzy ones."
McCarthy plays chef Sookie St. James on the CW show. She is getting ready to head to the Sundance Film Festival to showcase her new film The Nines also starring Ryan Reynolds. Falcone, formerly of Joey, recently produced and stars in the independent film Polk Valley.
