Two British icons, the Queen and James Bond, led the list of nominees Friday for the Orange British Academy Film Awards – the U.K.'s version of the Oscars.

The Queen, starring Helen Mirren, picked up 10 BAFTA nominations, including one for Mirren as best actress for her portrayal of the monarch at the time of Princess Diana's death.

Casino Royale received nine nominations, including one for the blond Bond, Daniel Craig, for best actor. Brit Craig will be up against Leonardo DiCaprio for The Departed and Forest Whitaker in The Last King Of Scotland.

The Queen is joined by Babel, The Departed, directed by Martin Scorsese, The Last King of Scotland and low-budget beauty-pageant comedy Little Miss Sunshine in the best film category.

In the best actress category, Mirren is up against Judi Dench for her role in the school-sex drama Notes on a Scandal, Penelope Cruz for her widely praised performance in Volver, Meryl Streep in fashion comedy The Devil Wears Prada and Kate Winslet in Little Children.
