• Oscar nominee Penélope Cruz and Salma Hayek, chowing down on rice-paper-wrapped prawns at Beverly Hills eatery Mr. Chow. "They were talking loudly in Spanish," says an observer.

• Patrick Dempsey, trying on penny loafers at Beverly Hills store Barneys New York.

• David Arquette, picking up flowers at the Hollywood Farmer's Market with 2-year-old daughter Coco. They also stopped to get an animal balloon for Coco. "They were adorable," a shopper tells us.

• Hilary Duff and sister Haylie, having a mother-daughter(s) bonding experience with mom Susan at Mo's in Burbank, Calif. On the table: a Mexican scramble with tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, tortilla strips and cheddar cheese.

• Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, "holding hands, snuggling and kissing" at the afterparty for her movie Catch and Release at Hollywood club Les Deux. When they weren't cozying up to each other, they hung out with friends including Garner's former Alias costar Victor Garber and Mark Ruffalo and snacked on red velvet, lemon and vanilla cupcakes.
