The British author's American publisher, Scholastic Children's Books, says the hardback edition will carry a suggested retail price of $34.99. A deluxe edition will go for $65, and a reinforced library edition for $39.99, the Associated Press reports.
This latest edition will also mark the 10th anniversary of the publication of the first of the Potter books, which have sold 325 million copies internationally and have been translated into 64 languages, according to its UK publisher, Bloomsbury.
In a holiday message to fans on her Web site in December 2005, Rowling, now 41, said she was approached the final saga with "mingled feelings of excitement and dread."
The excitement came "because I can't wait to . . . tell the final part of the story and, at last, to answer all the questions," she said. The dread arose because "it will all be over at last and I can't quite imagine life without Harry."
This week, the 17-year-old star of the Harry Potter movies, Daniel Radcliffe, took a step in the direction of preparing for life without Harry. In a series of image-shattering photos, he revealed his totally buff bod to publicize his upcoming London performance in the stage drama Equus, which opens Feb. 27.
