• Ashanti and her rapper beau Nelly, dining at Beverly Hills eatery Mastro's Steakhouse. The two feasted on steaks and colossal onion rings. "They were laughing and smiling and having a wonderful night," an observer tells us.

• Dean McDermott, accompanying Tori Spelling to West Hollywood Byron Salon. "Dean held Tori's hand as she explained the look she wanted to her hair stylist," an onlooker tells us. "They looked cute together."

• Ken Watanabe, star of the Oscar-nominated film Letters from Iwo Jima, and his wife, actress Kaho Minami, admiring a sleeping baby in a crowded elevator at Whole Foods Market in Santa Monica before unloading bags of produce into their silver SUV.

• Maggie Gyllenhaal and fiancé Peter Sarsgaard, sharing a late lunch at AMMO in Hollywood with their daughter Ramona, 3 months. The family sat with eight friends and a baby boy, and "they were smiling and having a great time," an observer says.
