Miss USA Tara Conner is looking forward to what comes next, she tells PEOPLE in an exclusive video diary, as she prepares to relinquish her crown during Friday's Miss USA 2007 Pageant.
(The live telecast will air at 9 p.m. ET on NBC from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.)
"Miss USA, it's a wrap," she says. "So, I'm moving on to the next part of my life, the next part of my journey."
After the near-loss of her title in December after allegations of wild partying, Conner went into rehab for alcoholism and addiction treatment – an experience she called "an awakening." It was also one that pageant organizers have said they won't shy away from during Friday's show, where Conner will be on hand.
Meanwhile, Conner tells PEOPLE that as a new Miss USA is appointed, "My life's getting ready to completely change again," she says. "But it's okay. I'm getting pretty good at that."
