Olympic skier Jonny Moseley and wife Malia are expecting a boy in early September, they tell PEOPLE exclusively.

"We're so excited," the couple said in a statement, "and we can't wait to start decorating the nursery once ski season ends." (The room is currently home to Moseley's countless pairs of skis.)

Malia, 30, says her pregnancy has been easy: "I feel great and the time is flying by. It's incredible to think that at this time next year, we'll have a 7½-month-old baby. We're looking forward to parenthood and all that comes with it. Most of all, we can't wait to meet our son."

Moseley, 31, a two-time World Cup champ, won a gold medal in freestyle skiing in the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, Japan. The former Malia Rich is his business manager.

His fame on the slopes helped land him a job as host of MTV's Real World/Road Rules: Battle of the Sexes – as well as a spot on PEOPLE's list of Top 50 Bachelors in 2002.

The parents-to-be began met in high school and dated for two years before getting engaged in 2003. They wed in Telluride, Colo., on March 25, 2006.
