A woman who allegedly tried to run over Sandra Bullock's husband was charged with two felonies, assault and stalking, the Orange County District Attorneys announced Thursday.
Marcia Valentine, 46, of Huntington Beach, Calif., faces a maximum sentence of four years and eight months in prison if convicted.
On April 22, Valentine reportedly tried to hit
motorcycle mogul Jesse James, 38, with her silver Mercedes at the couple's Sunset Beach home.
After the attack Valentine fled the scene. However, the following day an officer recognized her car and arrested her for assault with a deadly weapon. She later posted $25,000 bail.
A Valentine family member told PEOPLE: "From the bottom of hearts, we just feel heartsick for what happened to Jesse James, Sandra Bullock and their family."
Last week, Bullock, 42, successfully won a three-year restraining order against Valentine, who had been showing up at the couple's home for several months and leaving items on the property. The restraining order bars her from coming within 500 yards of Bullock, James and his three children.
Valentine's arraignment is set for May 22.
