Caught in the Act!

• Heroes star Hayden Panettiere, giggling with her fashionably matching pal Rumer Willis as the young shopping buddies hit up Jill Roberts Clothing Boutique in Beverly Hills.

• Aaron Eckhart, shooting a men's magazine cover just outside of Baker, Calif. at the Dumont Sand Dunes. Eckhart arrived for the afternoon desert shoot via helicopter, an onlooker tells us.

• Ludacris, rolling into Mastro's Steakhouse in Beverly Hills with a posse that filled three Escalade SUVs. The rapper-actor's arrival was a carefully orchestrated production by his bodyguards and Mastro's valet staff. Meanwhile, patrons had to wait a bit longer to retrieve their own vehicles as the rapper and his entourage were unloaded and escorted into the restaurant.

• Following the grand opening of Diesel's Los Angeles flagship store, the action moved to a private residence for a bash deejayed by Samantha Ronson. Brittany Murphy tried to keep a low profile with her new hubby Simon Monjack, as the couple hid in the corner kissing and canoodling at one point. Also making the scene: a solo David Arquette, who (quite the life of the party) introduced himself to everyone in the house. And burlesque star Dita Von Teese, in a billowy purple dress, hung out in the living room, socializing with a male pal.

• A friendly Heidi Klum, dining at the Waverly Inn in New York. The model, with her hair pulled back, sat in the first room after the bar and looked incredibly fit. Klum is in town shooting the fourth season of her hit BRAVO show Project Runway. Also making the Waverly scene: Hilary Swank, joining a male companion for dinner in a little area near the back of the restaurant.
