has jetted to Finland to find her roots – and has happened upon a unique business idea.
"I thought of a great way to celebrate my Finnish heritage at home," the forever Baywatch
babe, 39, writes on her blog
. "I'm going to look into opening a chain of strip clubs and I'll call them LAPLAND!!!"
Anderson, whose latest gig is on-stage assistant in Las Vegas to magician Hans Klok
, jetted from New York after taping an appearance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien
and is visiting the Scandinavian country with her dad, Barry Anderson, who (like his famous daughter) hails from Canada.
"Vegas forever. I'm completely in love. I left New York for Finland today. Just arrived with my father," she writes. "Our heritage is here. We are both excited. We will be taking lots of saunas. Save my liver."
Boasting Finnish roots (her great-grandfather, Juho Hyytiainen, reportedly left the country in 1908 and changed his name to Anderson after arriving in Canada as a 19-year-old immigrant), Anderson sent a letter
to the Finnish female President, Tarja Halonen, on June 20 and urged the leader to ban fur farming in Finland.
"[Farms are] so old fashion[ed]," Anderson writes on her blog. "There are hundreds here. The demand is getting lower for fur coats and they breed foxes here just for fur. ... Sweden, Austria and England have banned fur farms. Let's hope Finland will too. Other than that I'm very proud of my Finnish heritage."
This weekend she plans to celebrate that fact, attending the annual Rauma cultural festival and possibly meeting with family members. "It is the most beautiful countryside," she writes. "I'm going to try and convince some relatives to come visit me in Vegas."
