stars Mary-Louise Parker and Jeffrey Dean Morgan have called it quits, nearly four months after scotching reports
that that they were headed for a break-up.
"We're not together anymore," Morgan told PEOPLE at Monday's Kabluey
premiere at the L.A. Film Festival in Westwood.
"Everything's fine," Morgan explains. "It just didn't work out. Wrong time in both our lives."
A rep for Parker was not immediately available for comment.
The actress, 43, and Morgan, 41, who also appears on Grey's Anatomy
(as Denny Duquette), portray husband and wife on the Showtime series in which Parker plays housewife Nancy Botwin, who starts selling drugs after Morgan's character (Judah Botwin) dies.
In his personal life, Morgan says that he has moved on – but has not yet found a new girlfriend.
"I am a single guy," he said before arriving solo to Moving Pictures' afterparty. "I look for somebody with a sense of humor, someone that laughs at my bad jokes, and wants to have fun in life. That's kind of the key."
Morgan and Parker were first seen together at a party in New York last December. On March 22 they attended opening night
of the Broadway musical Curtains
as a couple along with Parker's 3-year-old son (with her ex, Billy Crudup), William.
Even though Morgan and Parker are no longer dating, he may still appear opposite Parker on Weeds
. "That could always pop up, you never know," Morgan says. "We'll see."
