Somebody altered Chris Benoit's Wikipedia entry to mention his wife's death – before her body was found.

The Web bio was changed early Monday to say the pro wrestler missed a match over the weekend because his wife had died.

Hours later, authorities found the bodies of the World Wrestling Entertainment star, his wife Nancy and their 7-year-old son, Daniel.

Cary Bass of Wikipedia traced the alteration to an Internet protocol address registered in Stamford, Conn., where WWE's headquarters are located, the Associated Press reports.

An IP address, however, doesn't have to be broadcast from its registration location. Bass told the AP it was unknown where the posting was sent from.

As of Friday morning, Benoit's Wikipedia entry was locked, with a note reading: "Editing of this article by unregistered or newly registered users is currently disabled until July 8, 2007 (UTC) due to vandalism."

The Benoits' bodies were found in their suburban Atlanta home. Authorities say Benoit asphyxiated his wife and son before hanging himself.
