Heidi Fleiss Opens Her Own 'Dirty Laundry'
Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss never aired her clients' dirty laundry. But now for 65 cents a pound she'll wash it – and fluff it and fold it.
Fleiss on Monday opened a 24-hour, coin-operated laundromat called Dirty Laundry, with 13 washers and 14 dryers, in a shopping center in Pahrump, Nev., where she also hopes to open a legal brothel for women.
Fleiss threw herself into the laundry business to help distract herself from the loss of her beloved pet macaw, named Dalton, who died recently.
"I had to force myself to do something," Fleiss, an avid parrot collector, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "Nothing in my 41 years – nothing – ever affected me like this."
In addition to the coin machines, her laundry will offer the fluff-and-fold service, though don't look for Fleiss to do the dirty work herself.
"I'm not going to be the attendant on duty," she says.
As for the brothel, Fleiss is still waiting on approval from the Nye County Liquor and Licensing Board to open "Heidi's Stud Farm," which she proposed as the state's first legal bordello catering exclusively to female customers.
