Clijsters's dad, Lei, announced on his Web site that the tennis champ is pregnant and due to give birth early next year.
"If everything goes well, Kim will be a mom and I a grandfather next year," he wrote.
Clijsters and Lynch are scheduled to get married on Saturday in her hometown of Bree, in the north of Belgium.
The 24-year-old tennis star, who won the U.S. Open in 2005, announced that she would retire from tennis in May after a long list of injuries and diminishing motivation on her part.
In 2003 she became the first Belgian to be No. 1 in the world of tennis. Lynch, who is originally from New Jersey, plays basketball professionally in Europe.
