Jessica Alba Takes Comfort in Friends | Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba, looking somber over dinner in the living room area West Hollywood's Chateau Marmont. With Cash Warren nowhere in sight, the Fantastic Four star ate with a male and female companion. After the meal, Alba strolled out onto the patio area with a cream colored shawl around her bare shoulders.

• Elsewhere at the star-studded Chateau: Nicollette Sheridan, checking out a bungalow party after dinner on the patio with friends. The Desperate Housewives star left the bash with a gift bag, then shared some girl talk with pals in the hotel lobby. Also at the hot spot: her Desperate Housewives castmate Eva Longoria.

• Meanwhile, down the street at the Bar Marmont, Cameron Diaz was partying with Andre Balazs. They were dancing right in front of the deejay booth, and the friends appropriately struck various poses to Madonna's "Vogue." After dancing, the duo sat at a table, side by side, martinis in hand and continued having fun.

• Does Al Gore like to party? When the bash is for his favorite cause, it appears so! The former vice president made a surprise appearance at the Ritual Supper Club in Hollywood during a belated wrap party for his Live Earth concerts. A party guest tells us: "It was a total shock that he came. He just walked in and started shaking hands and mingling with people – it was great."

The Polo Lounge
Caught in the Act!| Jessica Alba
Vince Vaughn, enjoying a guy's night out – over dinner – on the patio of the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Dressed, um, casually in jeans and an Adidas Notre Dame basketball T-shirt, the funnyman led the way out of the eatery and into the lobby, where he encountered some enthusiastic Notre Dame basketball fans.
