It's not as though they married on the fly, but for newlyweds Laila Ali and retired NFL star Curtis Conway – who exchanged vows Sunday in the rose garden of the Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Rey, Calif. – their honeymoon in Tahiti is still in the planning stage.

"I have to get on the phone and make reservations," Ali, 29, told PEOPLE on Monday, a day after her wedding. "Everyone's surprised, like, 'You haven't planned your honeymoon?' But now I have time."

Up until Sunday, travel brochures were the last thing on Ali's mind.

For her big day – which Ali planned while this past spring competing on Dancing with the Stars – the boxing champ bride chose a champagne-colored silk charmeuse strapless mermaid gown by Amy Michelson. Her bridesmaids donned custom lavender gowns by Lazaro for Lili Bridal.

Among the 200 guests were Laila's parents, Muhammad Ali and Veronica Porsche Anderson, along with her sister Hana Ali, who was a bridesmaid.

"Everyone was just having a good time celebrating our love," Ali tells PEOPLE. "That was the whole theme of the wedding: love, love, love!"
