Less than two months after declaring she was ready to walk away from fame, British songstress Lily Allen has re-discovered what it is to have fun.
Describing her current mood as happy, the 22-year-old "Smile" singer makes an upbeat admission on her Web site
: "I have had a wonderful few weeks."
She writes, "Playing Glastonbury [music festival] was the singularly most bestest moment of my entire life, and made me realise what this is all about. I had such a laugh."
Allen's new blog is in stark contrast to the harsh message
she delivered on June 14. Titled "F--- Off, F--- Off," it stated that her newfound celebrity and tabloid hounding made her lose interest in keeping an online journal.
Not that there's any telling how long her newfound delight may last. Friday's Melbourne Herald Sun
in Australia reports that the singer kicked a photographer after she performed before a sold-out audience there. (On June 28, Allen was arrested for punching a photographer
in her hometown of London.)
Still, Allen – who is finishing up a tour Down Under before performing at eight festivals in Europe – appears to have re-embraced a comfort-food habit with relish after a stop in Japan.
"[I'm] staying in the glamorous Medina apartments which has its own cooker, so I woke up this morning and went to the shops and bought Heinz beans and made us beans on toast with sprinkled cheese on top," she says. "It may not sound exciting, but after four days up a mountain in Japan with NO food whatsoever, beans on toast is looking good."
Allen concludes her blog, which includes a photo of her smiling and dressed in a panda outfit as she embraces an iced Slurpee on a downtown New York City street, with a friendly promise of more to come for her fans.
"I'm flying to LA for some business that needs attending to, then more festivals, yipppeeee !!!!!!!!!! I'm happy at the moment, really happy," she writes. "Love ya'll."
