• Rihanna, dining out at downtown New York eatery Da Silvano. The next night, the "Umbrella" singer, who's still nursing a bum foot, attended a Paper Magazine bash at Amalia to celebrate being the issue's cover model.

• Meanwhile, the singer's musical mentor Jay-Z enjoyed a big meal of his own: The rapper-mogul ordered everything on the menu at the 1920s-inspired Tillman's in New York. Among his choices? Nine(!) varieties of grilled cheese (including the pear and brie sandwich and the French onion soup grilled cheese) for his entourage of record label associates. As they dined, the lounge's owner personally controlled the music in the venue, offering a soundtrack of old-school jazz and soul singers.

• Paula Abdul and her restaurateur boyfriend J.T. Torregiani, shopping at the Sunset Plaza Tent Sale in Los Angeles. According to an onlooker, the Hey Paula star tried on her potential purchases, but she didn't take off what she was wearing. Instead, she slipped the clothes on over her outfit. Still, she got lucky – and left with items from Leona, Just Cavalli and Nicole Miller. And her shopping went to a good cause: Some proceeds were donated to the Los Angeles Fireman's Relief Association.

• Dancing With the Stars castmates, reuniting at Malibu's Beachbody House hosted by Silver Spoon at a baby shower for host Samantha Harris. Party attendees included former contestants Laila Ali (herself newly married), Drew Lachey and his dancing partner Cheryl Burke. The guest of honor sported a cute, blue cotton dress – and she took home some Caden Lan bedding for her crib.

• It was a "Midsummer Night's Dream" bash at the Playboy Mansion, and Paris Hilton got festive for the party, removing her robe and walking around in sexy black lingerie. The heiress made the rounds with sister Nicky Hilton and also made sure to say hello to the party's host, Hugh Hefner. After their chat, the Hilton sisters hit the dancefloor, which was crawling with celebrity guests, including former O.C. costars Adam Brody and Benjamin McKenzie. Despite being quite social, though, Hilton kept her distance from one guest – Shanna Moakler. "They really just did their own thing," a party guest tells us. More chatty, rocker Dave Navarro walked around introducing guests to his girlfriend Nicole Bennett. Says the guest: "They were very cutesy and cozy."
