Brad Paisley and George Strait led the Country Music Association Awards nominations with five nods each, it was announced Thursday.

Strait, who this year celebrated his 55th No. 1 single ("Wrapped") and an induction to the Country Music Hall of Fame, and Paisley were both recognized in the top fields, including entertainer and male vocalist of the year, the Associated Press reports.

Paisley's Fifth Gear is also in the running for album of the year, while his "Ticks" is up for best single and "Online" for best music video.

Strait's other nominations are for musical event of the year (his performance with Jimmy Buffett and Alan Jackson); It Just Comes Natural as album of the year; and "Wrapped" for single of the year.

Also competing as entertainer of the year are Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban. Josh Turner, Chesney, Paisley, Strait and Urban are rivals for male vocalist of the year.

Bluegrass star Alison Krauss, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire and American Idol winner Carrie Underwood are nominated for female vocalist of the year.

The 41st Annual CMA Awards will be presented Nov. 7 in Nashville and be broadcast on ABC.
