He's used to making big announcements, but during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, legendary boxing announcer Michael Buffer made the biggest announcement of his life.

He asked his girlfriend to marry him.

During the show Thursday, Buffer, 62, introduced audience members to his girlfriend, Christine Prado. Then, he dropped to one knee, and said, "We've been together almost four years now and you are the love of my life. I would like us to spend the rest of our lives together."

Her answer? A teary-eyed, "Yes," which earned applause from the audience.

Buffer has been announcing boxing events for over 20 years. He's best known for the phrase, "Let's get ready to rum-ble!"

Leno's show has been the site of past marriage proposals. In March 2000, former New York Giants defensive back Jason Sehorn proposed to actress Angie Harmon.
