The Wonder Years' Fred Savage, 30, and his wife, Jennifer Lynn Stone, 33, welcomed their first baby, a son who has not yet been named, Aug. 5 in L.A.

EXPECTING
Skating with Celebrities winners Kristy Swanson, 36 (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and Olympic figure skater Lloyd Eisler, 43, are expecting their first child together on Valentine's Day. "It was a surprise!" Swanson tells PEOPLE. "Lloyd and I are excited." Eisler, who separated from his wife in November after meeting Swanson on the show, has two children, Ethan, 2, and Seth, 8 months.... On Aug. 8, Bryce Dallas Howard, 25, revealed at the London premiere of Lady in the Water that she is pregnant with her first child. The daughter of director Ron Howard wed actor Seth Gabel, 24, in June. Of the pregnancy, Howard's costar Paul Giamatti joked, "I had nothing to do with it!"

RECOVERING
On location while shooting The Kingdom, Jennifer Garner, 34, fell ill and was hospitalized Aug. 4 near Phoenix after filming in the 110°F heat. "She overexerted herself," says a source. Garner was released the following day and husband Ben Affleck, 34, flew in to join the actress.

UPDATE
It's a good thing: The SEC announced Aug. 7 that it has settled its civil suit against Martha Stewart, 65. With a fortune estimated at $970 million, the media maven, who served five months in prison after her 2004 conviction for lying about her stock sale, will pay $195,081 in penalties and will be banned from serving as a director of a public company for five years.... CBS News Correspondent Kimberly Dozier, 40, was released Aug. 2 from a Baltimore rehabilitation facility, two months after suffering critical injuries in Baghdad during a car-bomb attack.... On Aug. 5, a second drug test confirmed that Tour de France winner Floyd Landis showed high levels of testosterone and a synthetic form of the hormone after Stage 17 of the race. The cyclist, 30, was immediately dismissed from his team, Phonak, and plans to challenge the results. "I have never taken any banned substance," he said on his Web site.

AMERICAN IDOL UPDATES: Katharine McPhee has been having a rough summer. After a bout of bronchitis and laryngitis forced her to skip the first three weeks of the American Idols Live! tour, the singer fractured her left foot Aug. 1 when she tripped backstage before a concert. (Her rep notes that the bone she broke is the same one Bo Bice fractured when he was on the Idol tour last year.) ... Taylor Hicks, this season's winner, is trying his talent as an author. He was reportedly paid a $750,000 advance to pen a memoir, tentatively titled Heart Full of Soul, which is due in early 2007.... Under doctor's orders, Kellie Pickler went on vocal rest for five days, missing three shows.... Clay Aiken is being sued by Doris Jean Holleman, the writer of his unauthorized biography Out of the Blue—'Clay' It Forward, who claims the singer and his mother have conspired to hurt her book sales. "I can not, and will not, stand by when these attacks are made on my family," said Aiken.
