Picks and Pans Review: New on DVD

Ronald Reagan: The Signature Collection

($49.98) Bedtime for Bonzo, the 1951 comedy in which Reagan starred opposite a chimp, is lamentably missing, but our 40th President is done right by in this entertaining five-disc set. His acting is most persuasive in 1942's Kings Row, in which he plays a youth whose legs are amputated, prompting his famous cry, "Where's the rest of me?" Other titles: Knute Rockne All American (a dying Reagan begs teammates to "win one for the Gipper"), The Hasty Heart, Storm Warning and The Winning Team. Extras: Not much. There's audio commentary on Heart and a few vintage cartoons, but no documentary on Reagan's life or career.
