Katherine Le and Hao Nguyen dated for 13 years, but it took only three months to plan their April 2006 nuptials in Houston. "I knew what I wanted: a big, lavish wedding," says Le, 38, a mortgage broker. "It was just a matter of making it happen." Le showed her planner and florist pictures of Donald and Melania Trump's ceremony and told them she wanted everything and more. "Their wedding was like a fairy tale. And I love gold," she says. So on came the cake with a hand-painted edible gold flower topper, the six bridesmaids in gold gowns, and the bride in lots of expensive jewelry. "I had to have a bodyguard follow me around all day," says Le. "When she walked in, it was just a breathtaking moment," says Nguyen, 53, also a mortgage broker. "Everybody was taking pictures, like when you see a movie star walking down the aisle."

When Corinne Tang began planning her November 2006 wedding to Daniel Taylor at the Ritz Carlton, Marina Del Rey in California, she knew she definitely didn't want something traditional. "I was always one of those girls who pushed buttons," says Tang, 27, a homemaker. "I have a different sense of style in what I wear. It's not that I have an attitude, but I would never conform just to conform." Then, while flipping through the pages of a magazine, she found inspiration in the fuchsia-infused wedding of pop star Pink to motocross champion Carey Hart. "I like Pink because she has a take charge, no bull personality," says Tang. "Her wedding had a rock 'n' roll edge to it." And the color scheme was a perfect fit. "Pink is my favorite color. I don't like baby pink; I wanted hot pink or fuchsia." So Tang ordered up pink table linens, pink lighting and a pink cake. In fact, "I would've walked down the aisle in pink," says Tang, but that's where her husband-to-be drew the line. "I told her whatever she wanted was fine with me," says Taylor, 27, a service adviser for BMW. "But the one thing I didn't want to compromise on was I wanted her to wear a white dress." Still, Tang was thrilled with the result. "I wanted to do the wedding as respectfully as I could and still show my rebellious side. And I think Pink emulated that perfectly."

When Jessika Cavin and Michael Hutchinson got engaged in October 2006, they couldn't figure out what kind of wedding to have. "We couldn't afford the traditional wedding that we wanted," says Cavin, 28. Then Cavin entered a contest sponsored by the Style Network and TheKnot.com for a celebrity copycat wedding and won the nuptials of her dreams: a carbon copy of Christina Aguilera's estimated $2 million celebration. "The way we did the ceremony and the reception was similar," says Cavin, referring to Aguilera's "fire and ice" color scheme with reds and golds at the ceremony, and blues and whites for the party afterwards. "I always wanted that 'Oh my God!' feeling when you walked into the reception. Christina's had that wow factor." Pulled together in just 45 days, the "the flowers, silverware and menus were exactly the same as Christina's," says Cavin. "It was really cool." Of course, the day wasn't a complete replica. "She had an orchestra at hers," says Cavin. "I had a regular band." And how did Hutchinson, 28, feel about his celeb-tested nuptials? "He was just excited that we were getting married sooner than we planned," says Cavin. "That day was everything we dreamed of and more."
