The show returns with a mostly new crop of high schoolers and a raven-haired nice girl named Tessa narrating. But the look and tone haven't changed, and that's all I care about. Adolescence has never seemed so luscious, fun, serenely trivial—Clueless played straight. Tessa has unresolved feelings for her friend Chase, a lean Justin Timberlake sort whose true love may be his potential rock career. He plays a gig at Tessa's surprise birthday party and afterward tells a bud that keeping the event secret from her was "like the hardest thing that I've ever had to endure, you know?" Later they go to dinner and she reads the menu aloud, pronouncing tuna "toon-ya." Isn't that adorable?
