Brilliant Waters, with a foreword by Robert Redford
You don't get many celebs in Truckee, Calif. "I've never seen one," says photographer Elizabeth Carmel. But that didn't stop her from hoping Robert Redford would write the introduction to her painterly new book Brilliant Waters: Portraits of Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, and the High Sierra. She shared her dream with a friend, who had a friend ... and one day the phone rang and it was him, saying he'd seen her book and loved it. "I had to catch my breath," she says. In addition to writing the foreword, Redford said he might stop by sometime. "I'm still waiting," says Carmel, whose book hits stores Aug. 25. "I may have to hand-deliver him some copies."
