Picks and Pans Review: Victor Garber on His New Role

UPDATED 09/04/2006 at 01:00 AM EDT Originally published 09/04/2006 at 01:00 AM EDT

After five years of playing super-serious CIA agent Jack Bristow on Alias, Garber, 57, is thrilled to let loose on Justice. "With Jack, everything was subtext," he says. "This guy says everything he thinks. To be so out there now, without any censors, blunt and sarcastic, is so much fun." Still, he keeps in touch with several Alias castmates, including Jennifer Garner. In fact, he loves playing unofficial uncle to his Alias daughter's baby. "I've held Violet in my arms and made some funny faces," he says of Garner and husband Ben Affleck's 9-month-old tot. "She loves me—or that could be my delusion."
