Behind the Seams
ROLLING STONE: "To us, Sharon Stone is a modern, sexy incarnation of Hollywood glamour," say Mark Badgley and James Mischka on their newest spokesmodel. The drama extended to the campaign's L.A. photo shoot, where the star—unprompted—channeled a different character for each dress she wore. The ads (shot by Gilles Bensimon) will launch in mid-September....
CHAMPAGNE WISHES: There's one reason why Christina Aguilera isn't as Dirrty as she used to be: Jaqua's new bath and body line. After sampling the new fall collection, the singer specifically requested the Pink Champagne Shower Syrup, Luscious Lotion and Body Butter. It's almost enough to make a girl tipsy....
Jaqua's Pink Champagne products, $16-$22; jaquabeauty.com.
SUNSHINE DAY: The characters in the sleeper hit Little Miss Sunshine aren't exactly fashion plates—but the tees featuring the film's catchphrases are hot items: Lindsay Lohan and Ashlee Simpson are fans. No word on whether they wear them while dancing to "Superfreak." ...
Little Miss Sunshine T-shirts, $38; shopkitson.com.
MUCHO GUSTTO: Teeny jeweled clutches are all well and good on the red carpet, but even starlets need a roomy everyday bag to throw all their stuff in. Jessica Alba's fave seems to be the "Parina" tote from the newly launched handbag line Gustto. (The star was photographed with it three times in one week.) Mandy Moore and Kerry Washington are also fans.
Gustto "Parina" tote, $625; 212-753-4000.
Trend of the VMAs BLACK NAIL POLISH
Move over, Rachel Zoe—Marilyn Manson is this fall's unlikely style setter: Stars like Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Simpson were among those who sported one of the season's hottest trends, black nails, at MTV's Video Music Awards. "It's a bold statement," says New York City nail expert Ji Baek. "If you're going to do it, just do it."
Chanel Nail Colour in Black Satin, $18; 800-550-0005
SNEAK PEAK ISABELLA ROSSELLINI'S DAUGHTER IS THE NEW FACE OF LANCÔME
When it comes to high-profile modeling gigs, Isabella Rossellini is keeping it all in the family. Rossellini, a Lancôme spokeswoman from 1982 to 1996, is passing the torch to her 23-year-old daughter, model Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann. "My mother worked for Lancôme for [many years], so I grew up with the brand in a sense," says Wiedemann, who has walked the runway for Alberta Ferretti and Bill Blass. "It's always been a huge part of my life." As for what her famous family thinks of her latest endeavor, "They're very tough, but they support me in whatever I do," says Wiedemann. "We're very loving towards each other." The ads—for skin care, fragrance and cosmetics—will start running in January 2007. Judging from the photos, she's a quick study.
WHY SHE'S HOT: P. Diddy's protégé scored a solo hit with "Me & U."
In an industry filled with exhibitionists and overzealous stylists, it's difficult for an up-and-coming singer to make her fashion mark, much less a positive one. But former model Cassie has done just that. "I like to mix high fashion and urban style," says the Connecticut native. "Sometimes showing a little skin, and other times, covering it up," she laughs. "I know what's there!" Here are a few of her favorite things.
"I always wear skinny jeans, always have to wear heels, always have to accessorize." Cassie in J Brand jeans, Steve Madden shoes Kenneth Jay Lane necklace, and carrying a Fendi bag.
"When I saw it, I thought it was absolutely gorgeous for fall. I bought the big buckle Fendi belt and wear it around the coat. So cute!" Diane von Furstenberg Long Campo coat in black, $575; dvf.com.
"Skinny jeans fit me perfectly—I love Sass & Bide and J Brand. They're like wearing leggings, but less '80s." J Brand 912 pencil jean in gray, $165; jbrand jeans.com.
"I love [A] Bathing Ape. They're so fun for chill time. I have one that zips up all the way up the hood—freaks my little cousins out." A Bathing Ape sleeveless hoodie, $199; 212-925-0222.
"When I first saw these, I was like, 'Oh my God, these are cartoon shoes! They're suede and very chunky.'" Tara Subkoff for Easy Spirit "Leena" platforms, $430; easyspirit.com.
"I always have the same type of jewelry every day—[gotta] have my doorknocker earrings." Try: Adelanto earrings, $8; 888-818-2536.
"I love [M.A.C] lashes even when I'm not working. I put on fake lashes when I'm shopping with my friends." M.A.C 6 Lash, $10; maccosmetics.com.
"It's actually a men's product. It cools your eyes off and wakes you up—it helps on those rough early mornings." Nickel Eye Contour Lift, $30; 212-242-3203.
"It smells like pumpkin pie and is a great sheer color—it's thinner, and your hair won't get stuck to it." Stila Spiced Ginger Lip Glaze, $20; stilacosmetics.com.
