ITALIC "The View"] from where STAR JONES REYNOLDS is sitting? Not too pretty. Now that vocal critic ROSIE O'DONNELL is joining the cast, a source claims that Jones Reynolds is on her way out of the daytime talk show. "They wouldn't be sorry to see her go," adds another TV insider. But Jones Reynolds's rep counters, "BARBARA WALTERS has stated on several occasions [that] Star is part of ITALIC "The View"] family for as long as she wants." That might not be for much longer. Sources say she's already shopping around for a new network. "I think she saw this coming," explains close pal NATALIE COLE. "They'll wish they had her back."

To toast the 20th anniversary of his production company, SPIKE LEE invited 900 pals for an overnight party on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship in New York City on May 12. See-worthy guests—including OPRAH WINFREY and CHRIS ROCK—enjoyed free-flowing Champagne and a performance of "Purple Rain" by DAVE CHAPPELLE. "Everyone was rich and fabulous," says a partygoer. And some left a bit richer: Lee's honorees (like GEORGE LUCAS and SAMUEL L. JACKSON) disembarked with Cartier gift bags.

After months of speculation, it's official: NICOLE KIDMAN and KEITH URBAN are engaged, his rep confirms to PEOPLE. "He's actually my fiancé," she added May 15 while discussing her new role with the United Nations (see page 81). "He's very good to me." No word on a wedding date, though.

At their ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY cover shoot, The Break-Up's JENNIFER ANISTON learned what really gets VINCE VAUGHN so emotional: Whitney Houston! When a DJ played "I Wanna Dance with Somebody," Vaughn "lit up and mouthed the words," says a set source. "He had everyone cracking up, including Jen." In other Friends news, COURTENEY COX ARQUETTE ARQUETTE was spotted chatting at L.A.'s Republic with pals SHERYL CROW and LAURA DERN.
