Having wrapped up a mini-tour of lip-synched club appearances on both coasts, BRITNEY SPEARS flew down to Mexico for a little R&R at the luxurious five-bedroom beachfront Coral Suite—a villa complete with its own kitchen staff—at the Four Seasons Resort in Punta Mita. Accompanied by her BFF assistant Alli Sims, a bikini-clad Spears flip-flopped into the Resort's Aina boutique and picked up several brightly colored head scarves. (Noted an employee: "She's in much better shape.") The singer even played Good Samaritan, warning an older gentleman and his wife about jellyfish in the surf. "She seemed happy," says the man, "and carefree."
Just how serious are things between MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY and model CAMILA ALVES? The Brazilian native, 24, has been a fixture on the Malibu set of his film Surfer, Dude, and the two recently hit a friend's barbecue together. "She is the absolute sweetest girl in the world," says a fellow partygoer. "They are the real deal." And McConaughey, who's been single since his split a year ago with PENELOPE CRUZ, "knows he has a good thing," adds the pal. "He's very doting."
Goofball girlfriend: While beau SPIKE JONZE paid for DVDs at a Hollywood Virgin Megastore on June 2, DREW BARRYMORE "kissed him on the cheek—then kept her mouth planted there," says an observer. "They were corny with each other."
Dad is never cool, even when he's ROBERT DOWNEY JR. Before son Indio, 13, performed with his band the Jack Bambis at the Lucky Jeans-sponsored Kidstock fest in Beverly Hills on June 2, the actor told Insider, "I'm in my early forties so he's always embarrassed of me."
A very pregnant NAOMI WATTS got some onscreen solidarity June 3 when she and longtime boyfriend LIEV SCHREIBER caught a screening of Knocked Up in New York City.
