National Bingo Night
ABC, May 18, 9 p.m. ET | [1.5 stars]

REALITY

It wouldn't be so bad, would it, just to film bingo night in a church basement? The quiet clucking as players mark their cards, the clinking of ice cubes in glasses of iced tea—and then that exhilarating, age-old yell, "Bingo!" The ABC version brings us a bigger, tricked-out affair weighed down with a title that sounds like a dictator's notion of a fun, cheap show for the masses. Balls tumble in a Thunderdome-like cage, while one chosen contestant is pitted against a studio audience. The uncommonly lovely bingo assistant (Yesenia Adame) seems to have wandered in from a nightly lottery announcement, while host Ed Sanders shouts like a preacher. The show's most important gimmick is that viewers can print out cards from the network's Web site to play along for prizes too. But the preview footage just put me to sleep-o.

A NEW GIG—AND WEDDING PLANS!
MONTEL WILLIAMS

• The talk show guru offers motivational advice on his new DVD series Living Well with Montel, but sought a little help to plan his fall wedding to fiancée Tara Fowler. "Dude, I can do anything for everybody else," says Williams, going strong eight years after being diagnosed with MS, "but we've been trying to put together a guest list for four weeks! So now I've got a wedding planner."

Last Days of Left Eye
VH1, May 19, 9 p.m. ET | [3 stars]

DOCUMENTARY

When she set out on the 2002 Honduran trip that ended with her death in a car accident, TLC star Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes was searching for a little zen, if on her own celebrity terms. She brought along a crew to film her as she drank herbal concoctions, wandered the jungle and ruminated on her troubles with alcohol and the law (she torched the home of her boyfriend, football player Andre Rison). The woman captured in this sad, intimate documentary seems stranded somewhere between exhaustion and enlightenment.

THE TUDORS' ANNE BOLEYN
NATALIE DORMER

• The British actress, 25, corsets up on Showtime as the Other Woman who won Henry VIII but lost her head

ARE YOU A HISTORY FAN?
Yes, it's my other passion. And that's the beauty of being an actor—every time you do a role you immerse yourself in that time. But I like my hot baths, my satellite television and the Internet too much to actually go back to 1531 [the year Henry VIII, in love with Anne, separated from wife Catherine of Aragon].

YOU COSTAR WITH JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS AND ACTED WITH HEATH LEDGER IN CASANOVA—ARE YOUR FEMALE FRIENDS JEALOUS?
It's just part of the job. I don't mean to be nonchalant about how beautiful they are. One could argue that they are lucky to be working with me! But the girls don't understand.
