Both his parents are actors, so perhaps it's no surprise that Nicolas Neruda Kodjoe entered the world camera-ready. "Literally the second he came out, I took the most amazing photo," says dad Boris Kodjoe, 33, currently guest-starring as a detective on Crossing Jordan. "It's the most beautiful picture in the world—he was taking his first breath. The cord was still there, and he was looking up into the sky."
These days little Nicolas—named in part for mom Nicole Ari Parker, 36, and her favorite poet Pablo Neruda—looks up to sister Sophie, 22 months. "She kisses his toes before we put his socks on and pats his head when he cries," says Parker. "I keep wondering, 'Where does she learn these loving things?'"
Married since 2005, Atlanta-based Mom and Dad are learning too. "Once you become a parent, you're introduced to a whole new level of emotion," says Kodjoe, who is teaching his children both English and his native German. "I want to do well and conquer the world for them, like Superman. It's as if a whole new chamber in my heart has opened up."
