Picks and Pans Review: Partners in Crime Writing
>What's it like growing up with mystery-writer parents? "I began dictating stories to my father when I was 3," says Jesse Kellerman, 28. "Apple of Danger—it was the first of my Fruit of Danger series." These days, though—unlike dad Jonathan and mom Faye (whose second joint effort, Capital Crimes, came out last November)—"I don't write a series. And my books aren't detective stories." He did collaborate with his mom "on a story, and we fought a lot. I was just a teenager throwing a tantrum." But don't rule out future family collaborations. "My three sisters," Kellerman says, "are all very gifted writers."
